With all eyes on the guests, is it possible the killer is the one pouring the tea?

Giles Ralston

Mollie’s husband and co-proprietor of the manor, Giles is protective, proud, and a little quick to point fingers. His aloofness can be chalked up to the stress of hosting under extreme weather… or it might be something darker. A man with a strong sense of privacy and the occasional flare of jealousy, Giles has a temper that could boil over at the worst possible time.

Christopher Wren

An exuberant, jittery young man with a love for architecture and a flair for the eccentric, Christopher Wren is immediately memorable — and that’s exactly how he likes it. But his erratic behaviour and sudden outbursts make the other guests uneasy. He’s either harmlessly odd… or hiding something too big for even him to control.

Mrs. Boyle

Opinionated, entitled, and unashamedly vocal about her dissatisfaction with everything from the furniture to the food, Mrs. Boyle has a talent for alienating everyone in the room. Her air of superiority hints at a long history of judgement and secrets. She’s the kind of person who makes enemies easily — but could she also be capable of murder?

Major Metcalf

With his military bearing and calm, methodical way of speaking, Major Metcalf appears to be a figure of order amidst the chaos. But when it comes to the past, he’s suspiciously vague. Is he simply a stiff-upper-lip type with nothing to hide, or is he blending in just a little too well?

Miss Casewell

Mysterious, stylish, and emotionally guarded, Miss Casewell has an unsettling air of detachment. Her cryptic remarks and unnerving calm suggest a traumatic history that still casts a long shadow. She’s returned to England after years abroad — but why now? And why here?

Mr. Paravicini

He appears out of the snow with a dramatic flair, claiming his car overturned in the storm. Paravicini is flamboyant, theatrical, and utterly unreadable. His stories don’t quite add up, his accent seems oddly changeable, and no one knows why he really came to Monkswell Manor. Is he a harmless eccentric… or something much more dangerous?

Detective Sergeant Trotter

Skiing in through the blizzard to warn of a potential murder and investigate a recent crime, Sergeant Trotter is all business. Methodical, thorough, and determined to get to the bottom of things, he wastes no time in interrogating the manor’s guests. But with so many stories not lining up and tensions rising by the hour, he’ll need every ounce of intuition to catch the killer before they strike again.

Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap continues its unparalleled run at London's St. Martin's Theatre, captivating audiences with its intricate plot and rich history. Since its West End debut on November 25, 1952, the play has achieved remarkable milestones, including over 29,000 performances and more than 10 million tickets sold. In 1974, the production seamlessly transferred from the Ambassadors Theatre to St. Martin's Theatre without missing a single performance, showcasing the dedication of its team. To date, The Mousetrap has featured no fewer than 297 actors and actresses. Notably, David Raven holds the Guinness World Record as the 'Most Durable Actor' for his 4,575 performances as Major Metcalf, and the late Nancy Seabrooke set a record with her 15-year tenure as an understudy.

Who plays Mollie Ralston in The Mousetrap?

Lara Lemon takes on the role of Mollie Ralston. No stranger to an Agatha Christie thriller,  Lemon was most recently seen in Witness for the Prosecution, where she delivered not just one, but two standout performances, taking on the roles of Greta and Clegg. Lemon's nuanced portrayal of Mollie adds depth to the character, drawing viewers into the suspenseful world of Monkswell Manor.

Who plays Giles Ralston in The Mousetrap?

Harry Bradley brings a dynamic energy to the stage in his performance as Giles Ralston. Audiences may recognize him from another long-running hit - The Play That Goes Wrong -  where his comedic timing and versatility were on full display. Bradley's interpretation of Giles balances charm and tension, contributing significantly to the play's intricate narrative.

Who plays Christopher Wren in The Mousetrap?

Richard Leeming leaps into the shoes of the enigmatic and eccentric Christopher Wren. Recently seen in Regent Park Open Air Theatre’s production of Romeo & Juliet and The Haunting at New Vic, Leeming captures Wren's eccentricities and mystery, keeping audiences guessing about his true intentions.

Rekha John-Cheriyan delivers a commanding performance as the stern and critical Mrs. Boyle. Alasdair Buchan brings charisma and intrigue to the role of Mr. Paravicini. No stranger to a detective drama, his previous work includes An Inspector Calls and Sherlock Holmes and the Crimson Cobbles. Interestingly, Buchan's connection to The Mousetrap dates back to his childhood when he staged an unauthorized school production, leading to a legal warning from the producers. Now, he joins the official West End cast, bringing his journey full circle.

What are the best seats at the St. Martin's Theatre?

Starting with the Stalls, Row G seats are widely considered the most desirable in the theatre, thanks to the generous legroom provided by the aisle in front and an outstanding view of the full stage. However, the last three rows do experience some partial obstruction of the view due to the overhang from the Dress Circle.

Up in the Dress Circle, the rake provides excellent views even from the back row, but the front two rows offer some of the best sightlines in the theatre. Due to the more intimate scale of St Martin’s Theatre, the Dress Circle feels closer to the stage compared to larger West End venues. However, as with many historic theatres, legroom can be a bit limited.

The Upper Circle provides the most budget-friendly tickets in the theatre. Views from this section can feel distant, and the first few rows may be partially obstructed by a safety rail. Legroom tends to be quite cramped. Row H, while the furthest from the stage, offers slightly better legroom than most of the Upper Circle, making it a good option for taller patrons who are mindful of their budget.

He may play a retired army general in The Mousetrap, but in real-life Miles Richardson is a (nature)lover, not a fighter. The eco-friendly thespian loves nothing more than enjoying the capital in bloom, taking in the wisteria and bluebells (and taking home any rubbish) on his journey to St Martin’s Theatre.

However, he may not have been making this commute if it wasn’t for his clean-shaven take on the Major! “The first thing [my wife] asked me when I found out I got the part was ‘would I have to grow any facial hair’. When I said No, she said I could do the job!” So, he was a whisker away from not clinching the part, literally!

Nearly 600 additional arts organisations have received support from the UK Government's Culture Recover Fund amounting to about £76 million. The announcement comes after the first round of funding in the amount of £257 million was provided to 1,385 organisations last week.

Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap will no longer be re-opening for socially distanced performances this autumn, it has been announced. The production was due to recommence performances at St Martin's Theatre from 24 October but has now made the difficult decision to postpone the show's restart date until further notice. Ticketholders will be contacted by their point of sale to arrange for a credit note or full refund.
